The skin, as we all know, is
the largest organ of the body. The beauty of the skin comes out only when it
has been taken proper care of.
All professional make-up
artist know that it is not all about the products or brushes but the canvas- in
this case, the face because if your canvas is rough, exceedingly oily/dry, or
something worse, no amount of makeup done will make that face glow or look
flawless, which should be the aim of seeking a professional for your
makeup. So it is advised to work on the skin of your face so it becomes
makeup agreeable else you would wind up looking like a colored rag. Lol!
The following are a few things to you should so regularly to get a makeup agreeable skin:
1.
Wash with a soft cloth
or just your soap, scrubbing too hard can cause irritation, trust me, been
there before, Oh and try not to wash a lot too, trice is just enough!
2.
Make sure you don't
sleep with your makeup on, aside the fact that you get to stain the sheets,
your skin would love to breathe too!
3.
Unless you have dry skin
(which is kind of rare in Naija) you should cleanse once a day with an oil free
cleanser, preferably at night.
4.
Our face tends to darken
faster than our body, cause of the harsh rays that hits our skin daily, so you
need a toner to match it back with your body else you will be looking like a
black lollipop; and we don't want that, do we. Use at night after the Cleanser.
5.
OK this, I have great experienced
in. Please moisturize. It is important to always moisture your face, preferably
before your makeup in the morning and as soon as you are back from work (even
if you don't want to have your bath, just wash your face). The cleansers tend
to dry your face and unless you want your face looking it it's been squeezed or
plastered or wrinkled, please moisturize. Besides, the oil our face secretes
sometimes heals the little scars on our face.
6.
Now this final tip is
not a necessity and if it ever becomes a necessity, it shouldn't be overdone!
Exfoliation: this is the act of scrubbing off (please not to hard o) dead cells
that tend to accumulate on the face. Naturally your face should shed this, but
sometimes it needs help. You need to do this once in a while, once a week is
perfect!
It just helps bring out our softer, more absorbent
and obedient skin, (yes we have that sort of skin, but it is under the layer of
our tacky, hard and less absorbent skin). Home remedies include mixing sugar
and honey and gently scrubbing the face after which you rinse off and
tone. (View the home remedies on this blog!)
