A NIGHT TO REMEMBER

There was so much merriment and scintillation in the air as corps members basked in the euphoria of the 2014 batch ‘C’ stream 1 welcome party which took place on 7th November 2014 at the NYSC permanent camp site, Iseyin, Oyo state. The event flagged off officially, with the usual tradition of singing the NYSC anthem and was followed immediately by a welcome & opening speech by our mummy, the state coordinator, Mrs. Olufunimlayo Akin-Moses.

Major host of the show, Beat 97.9 fm, took the stage with D.j Secxy giving his usual dose of good vibes, while the ’shoki’ dance competition cracked everyone up as different people were asked to come on stage to showcase their individual version of the dance; the good, the funny, the bad and the horrible.
Comedy by Peteru was spectacular as he got everyone present somertumbling with excessive laugher that seem to ease the tension of the day’s stress. Seeing him for the first time, one would ever believe he is actually an epitome of comic relief. Interesting was the excessive flow of cocktail courtesy of Jameson’s who also provided anyone with free drinks.
Of the interesting personalities present was that of Cynthia Morgan who rocked the entire camp with her splendid performance that made even the novice aware of who she was and left professionals craving for more. Other guest artistes present were; Sandy, T-flames amongst others.
Also, was the appearance of Eva Alordiah, (popularly known as Éva) who seemed to have the right prescription for the already sleepy crowd as regards music. She had everyone screaming as she descended the stage to snap selfies with corps members. There was no doubt that she came to have fun with the already fun aroused corps member and this no doubt increased her fan-base.
Screams of excitement rented the air as the main appearance for the night ascended the stage. Of course that was the long awaited ALAGA IBILE (REMINISCE), who happened to have stepped in at the right time rounding up the show with everyone dancing, singing, and cheering all at once. It was indeed a night to remember as corps members staggered to their hostels due to exhaustion from the show that ended at about 11.30pm. All thanks to Beat 97.9fm for such a splendid night!!!
