was with mixed feelings that the current set of executives under the leadership
of the President, Malcolm Osita, passed over the baton to the Batch A and C

Representing
the President who was unavoidably absent during the hand over, Vice President
Adedoyin Jaiyesimi, thanked every member of the CD group for their diligence
and hard work.
Kopa's Kitchen - Pancake Recipe
by Toyin
Okeowo
Pancake also known is truly a balanced diet as it contains
the essential nutrients. It is a blend of protein (from the eggs),
carbohydrates (from the flour) and fats and oil (from the butter and vegetable
oil) and these are not micro-nutrients. Pancake could be a snack as well as a
major meal such as breakfast or dinner.
Pancakes go well with chilled drinks, with pap (akamu),
custard or tea.

Nigeria - Through My Numbness I Still Believe
by Adedoyin Jaiyesimi
It was with dreadful horror that we
received the news of the abduction of over 200 young school girls from the
Chibok community in Borno state. 21 days later, these girls have not yet returned
to the comfort of their homes. In this same time frame, we have witnessed two
more bomb blasts in the same location (Nyanya) and more disturbing news of
insecurity and lawlessness. What is really going on?

Six Quick Fashion Tips for Guys
by Olawumi Fadugbagbe
1. FIT IS KING: The most dramatic improvement you can make in your style is
to make sure everything fits impeccably. Most guys wear clothes that are too
large. Make sure everything you wear is almost hugging the shape of your body -
without being tight. Bad fit is an epidemic, “cure yourself”.
2. KEEP IT SIMPLE: You want a wardrobe that looks great on you, don’t
overdo it. Don’t wear more than three pieces of jewellery or more than three
colours at once. Don’t dress like a rock star. If you
want to be flashy, a simple but stylish look would be sporting a black striped
dress shirt with a white blazer, a dark pair of jeans, a dressy belt and your
sharpest dress shoes. You could also add a flashy wristwatch or a simple
accessory like an interesting necklace but nothing more.

Self pride
when it becomes arrogance
Faith when
it becomes self-righteousness
A Victory Over Malaria – POEM
by Julius-Adura Olayinka
Suddenly my strength became weakened
My joints less lubricated
There was bitterness in my mouth
And a heater in my body
The intensity of ringing bell from the neighbourhood church tripled in my head

Corpers Fitness; Our Concerned Soldiers
by Braimoh Abimbola
Humour
struck as corps members residing in Mokola Barracks were asked to participate
in compulsory exercise every morning before going to their various places of
primary assignment. The recent development is an idea brought up by the Commandant General
as a means of keeping corps members fit in the discharge of their civic duties
to their father land.
Speaking
with an officer who pleaded anonymity, he commented that the idea of the early
morning exercise is to ensure that corps members don’t fall sick or grow lazy
as the exercises will help them to keep fit and avoid visiting the hospital
throughout the service year.
Taking Risks; Fewer Risks, Fewer Victories
It is better to fail while doing
something than to excel in doing nothing. Don't be afraid to fail. The truth
is, if you are not failing, you are not growing. Failure is delay not defeat. Robert
Goddard says "success and failure are not opposites but they are actually
both products of the same process". It is difficult to say what is
impossible for a dream of yesterday is the hope of tomorrow.
Walk by faith and not by sight; take
risks.
