THE DISBURSEMENT OF TRANSPORT ALLOWANCE TO CORP MEMBERS AT THE PERMANENT ORIENTATION CAMP, ISEYIN, OYO STATE

The National Youth Service corps in Oyo State would have been portrayed in a bad light without the disbursement of the sum of one thousand five hundred naira (#1500) for fare to corps members. It was made a statutory payment by the national leadership of NYSC to enable prospective corps members get little money for transport. The payment has two stages. The first payment was the insurance of a thousand five hundred naira to the young graduates rendering selfless service to their fatherland.
It may interest you to know that the collection of this money by corps members started at 5.00pm last Saturday and ended at about 6.30pm. It was continued on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of the present week. According to a reliable source who spoke to our correspondence during the week under review, we gathered that the disbursement was on course. Statistics and other facts on ground had shown that over 300 corpers in the camp have reserved their payment as there was discrepancy in the disbursement.
However, the next phase of payment might likely commence in the coming days before the end of the orientation course as it is to the manner of the administration on camp. This phase ensures that every graduate under the watch of NYSC, Oyo State receives another sun of one thousand naira totaling two thousand five hundred naira.
At the end of the exercise, the biblical citation says that says “cast your bread upon the waters, for after many days you will find it again” would be that the handiwork of these graduates has begun to be appreciated and value.
